Dump your Junk:
Thanks to all that attended Dump your junk. The dumpster was filled by 10:30 and we were only able to accept smaller items after that time. If you still have large items such as couches to get rid of, you can take them directly to Rumpke’s dump on Struble road just east of Colerain Ave.. The last time I checked, dumping fee was $35 per pickup truck load. You may want to call Rumpke for latest pricing.
Roosevelt getting re-paved to Sprucehill:
As you may be aware, Hamilton Ave is in the process of being re-surfaced. This project is funded by ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation) District 8. Because Roosevelt is maintained by Springfield township, it was originally not included in the Hamilton Ave. project. So Joe Rivers contacted Mike Gould, the Springfield Township Public works director to see if they can work out a way to include Roosevelt. This was successful and ODOT District 8 updated the project to include Roosevelt to Sprucehill.
Sevenhills is a high priority zone:
Springfield Township has made Sevenhills a high priority zone. This letter Has been hand delivered to all businesses. There has also been more police presence looking for illegal activity and checking up on vacant properties. If you will be away from home on summer vacation Springfield Township police encourages you to call (513) 729-1300 to let them know and they will check up on your property while you are away.
The Township started on the Wild Flower project at the old Frost elementary school property in June.Scroll down to see the proposed project details.
Neighborhood cleanups continue:
Joe Rivers and Charles Smith are active doing neighborhood cleanups on Saturday mornings 9 to 11 AM. If you would like to volunteer please check with Joe for dates. They are also hiring youth to help with cleanups.
Roosevelt landscape project: This project is complete. We would like to thank Springfield Township for providing us mulch and Joe, Lee, Roy, Don, Fred for distributing the mulch on May 10th. Would also like to thank Carolyn for volunteering to plant Flowers for further enhancement.
FROST PARK WILDFLOWER Project:
The blue line around the park indicates a walking trail paved with wood chips.
